About Our Classes...
· All classes are based on the power flow style of yoga and taught in a heated room ~ approximately 85 degrees. · All Levels - power flow yoga class appropriate for everyone. Offering a challenging flow, with options given for modifications. · Basics - great for beginners or those who want to refine their practice. Emphasis is on foundational poses, breathwork and alignment. · Prenatal classes with Amy - prenatal yoga strengthens and stretches the muscles, helping to relieve back pain and other common aches throughout your pregnancy. Breathing exercises help to focus and relax the mind, better preparing you for the challenges of labor. Find comfortable poses to relax and restore your body and mind. Prenatal sessions are offered throughout the year...contact the studio for more information. Remember...
· Please arrive to class 10 minutes early to allow time to set up your mat, acclimate to the room and center yourself for the practice. · Bring a mat, hand towel, water. We also recommend a mat towel. (All of these items are available for purchase at our studio) · Wear comfortable clothing, keeping in mind the temperature of the room. · Please inform your teacher of any injuries or conditions you have prior to the start of class. · Practice on an empty stomach, drinking lots of water before, during and after practice. · Honor your body. You know you best. Practice awareness. · Refrain from wearing heavy perfumes, as strong scents may bother others. · Each class at yogaErie is an experience for each of our students. The studio is a place of relaxation, inspiration and transformation - a quiet and peaceful environment for all of us to focus on our own practice. Frequently Asked Questions and Misconceptions
· You do not need to be flexible to practice yoga. This is the biggest misconception about yoga! One of the many benefits of practicing yoga is to develop better flexibility. Yoga is for you even if you can't touch your toes! · Most of our classes are taught in a multilevel format, offering options for all students. Plenty of modifications are given to allow each student to find the right pose for their body, while others are encouraged to embrace opportunities to deepen their practice. Our philosophy is to "keep your eyes on your own mat." · Need to lose weight? Don't worry about losing it before class - You'll lose it once you get here! You will burn hundreds of calories in just one class! · Classes are ongoing - no preregistration required. We do not hold sessions. Come to any class! |
